NEW product launch!
If you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know we don’t launch new products all that often. Being a small team, we focus on doing just a few things, really well. But when one of our extended whānau suggested adding chilli to our original Elaiasalata dip, well, we just had to give it a go!
We spoke to chilli experts, Apostle Hot Sauce based in Kapiti to get some pointers and put aside some of our Elaiasalata to experiment with. Using our own blend of chilli marinade, we added just a small amount at first. This slightly deepened the colour, but our Production Supervisor, Christin (a self confessed chilli lover!) could barely taste it. So a little more, and then a little more until we landed on the perfect balance - enough spice to give a gentle kick, but not so much that you’re reaching for a glass of milk!
We then contacted our kind subscribers and offered 5 free samples. The response was overwhelming, and feedback on the flavour and texture was very positive - thanks!
The next step was our packaging design. We worked with Cicala Design once more, who again provided a great label. We use a ‘pinkish red’ inspired from chilli flakes and roasted red peppers. There’s truly nothing else quite like it.
Chilli Elaiasalata started hitting shelves from late June. We’d like to pass on a huge thank you to our amazing stockists who continue to love our products. It will take some time for all of our stockists across the country to stock our new dip, so in the meantime, you can order here.
